Job summary

Blackjack Horticulture in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader to guide hands-on installation crews on residential and commercial sites. You will plant trees and shrubs, lay sod, and operate handheld and power tools while keeping projects on schedule and up to our quality standards.

The role requires at least 2 years of landscaping experience, leadership ability, a valid driver's license, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Oversee landscape installation on residential and commercial properties, including trees, plants, and sod.
• Manage and complete installations within project timelines.
• Delegate and manage tasks among crew members.
• Enter time for yourself and your crew.
• Ensure safety standards are followed on site.
• Maintain Blackjack's quality standards on every job.
• Report issues to your supervisor.
• Communicate professionally with clients and Blackjack employees.

About the Role

This position involves hands-on installation work — from planting trees and plants to laying sod — using handheld equipment, power equipment, and hand tools, while leading and overseeing your crew. You'll be responsible for keeping projects on schedule, ensuring quality, and setting the standard for professionalism on every job site.

What You'll Do

• Oversee landscape installation on residential and commercial properties, including trees, plants, and sod
• Manage and complete installations within allotted project time
• Delegate and manage tasks among crew members
• Enter time for yourself and your crew
• Ensure all crew members comply with safety standards
• Maintain Blackjack's quality standards on every job
• Report any issues or concerns to your supervisor
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients and fellow Blackjack employees

What We're Looking For
