The Installation Crew Leader is responsible for leading landscape installation projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to the company's quality and safety standards. This role combines hands-on field work with team supervision and requires strong horticultural knowledge, construction capabilities, and leadership skills. The Installation Leader plays a key role in translating landscape designs into functional, high-quality environments.
Oversees both softscape and hardscape elements, ensuring technical accuracy and craftsmanship.
Directly supervises crew members, sets daily expectations, and provides on-the-job coaching.
Plans workdays based on design plans, timelines, and material availability.
Serves as the on-site contact for customers, updating them on progress and addressing questions or concerns.
Anticipates and resolves site-level issues to maintain project momentum and standards.
Review and interpret landscape designs, site plans, and installation instructions; Plan daily tasks for crew members based on schedule, weather, and site conditions; Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment needed for each phase of installation.
Lead and motivate a crew of landscape laborers and technicians; Provide guidance, hands-on instruction, and enforce safety procedures; Support training and onboarding of new team members.
Execute and supervise installation of plant material, turf, mulch, and hardscape features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and irrigation systems; Ensure adherence to specifications, grades, and layout plans; Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor job site cleanliness, equipment condition, and safety compliance; Identify quality concerns early and correct issues to avoid rework; rack labor hours and material usage; submit accurate documentation.
Communicate regularly with Operations Managers or clients about progress and concerns; Address unexpected challenges on-site with timely, effective solutions; Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.
