Job summary

Brownswood Nursery & Landscape on Johns Island, SC is seeking a dependable driver to support our Landscape Division by safely transporting plants, materials, and equipment to and from project sites throughout the Charleston area.

You’ll gain outdoor, active work; CDL preferred but not required, with pay of $24–$30 per hour depending on experience. Training and benefits are provided, including a 401(k) with employer match and time off.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
• Experience driving trucks and trailers safely and maneuvering them.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform loading/unloading.
• Willingness to work outdoors and support landscape teams.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles and trailers to transport plants, landscape materials, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate deliveries and pickups with landscape leaders and crews to support project schedules.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment.
• Verify loads and communicate shortages, damage, or delivery concerns promptly.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; keep vehicles clean; report maintenance needs.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable transportation requirements.
• Navigate residential properties and protect clients’ property and company equipment.
• Assist landscape crews with material handling, job site preparation, cleanup, and other project tasks when not driving.
• Represent Brownswood professionally when interacting with clients, suppliers, and fellow team members.

What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL preferred, but not required.
• Experience safely driving, backing, and maneuvering trucks and trailers.
• Experience transporting and securing equipment or landscape materials preferred.Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
• A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to support the team beyond driving duties.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading.
• Ability to handle items weighing up to 75 pounds using safe lifting methods and assistance as needed.
• Plant knowledge or landscape experience is a plus; training is available.
