Responsibilities include creating planting plans, hardscape layouts, bid documents, and cost estimates, while supporting ongoing client relationships and new sales opportunities. Travel to local sites will be required as needed.

Role Description

The Landscape Designer/Sales Associate is a full-time role based in Charleston, WV. This hybrid remote/on-site role includes meeting with clients to understand their landscaping needs, developing design concepts, preparing planting plans and hardscape layouts, and presenting proposals. The individual will collaborate closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet quality standards. Daily responsibilities include creating detailed drawings and specifications, estimating project costs, preparing bid documents, and following up with clients to support ongoing relationships and new sales opportunities. The role also involves site visits, product and plant material selection, and maintaining knowledge of industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in Landscape Design and Landscaping, with the ability to develop aesthetic and functional outdoor spaces.
• Ability to create Planting Plans, including plant selection suited to local climate and site conditions.
• Understanding of Hardscape design, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and related structural elements.
• Strong client-facing sales skills, including consultation, proposal development, and follow-through.
• Proficiency with design tools or software (e.g., CAD, landscape design software) is highly beneficial.
• Effective communication, organization, and time management skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work on-site, conduct field measurements, and collaborate with installation teams.
• Relevant education in landscape design, landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to client sites as needed.
