Job summary

Hazeltine Nurseries Inc. in Venice, FL, seeks an experienced Landscape Designer with sales experience to plan, design, and develop outdoor spaces for residential, commercial, and government projects.

You will collaborate with clients, coordinate with architects and contractors, and prepare plans, drawings, and estimates while ensuring compliance with codes and environmental regulations. Strong sales, communication, and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in landscape architecture and design.
• 5+ years of proven sales experience in the landscape industry.
• Strong knowledge of Florida-native and Florida-friendly plant material.
• Proficiency in landscape design software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for landscapes, hardscapes, trellises, gazebos, fencing, driveways, and related outdoor features.
• Collaborate with clients to assess needs, preferences, and site-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with internal divisions, architects, and contractors throughout the design and construction process.
• Analyze site conditions, including soil composition, drainage, vegetation, and existing structures to prepare environmental reports and design plans.
• Produce site plans, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and resolve on-site challenges.
• Manage client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay current on trends in landscape architecture and Florida-specific plant materials and applications.
