Job summary

The NYS Office of General Services is seeking a Licensed NY Landscape Architect to supervise staff and design consultants, coordinate contract documents and ensure compliance with codes and standards. The role includes providing in-house design when needed and supporting construction projects in Albany and surrounding areas.

Travel is expected at approximately 20%, and applicants must hold the NY licensure, with proof required at application.

Qualifications

• New York State Registration and License as a Professional Landscape Architect.
• Proof of successful passing of the required examination/certification at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate staff and design consultants in planning, preparation and submission of contract documents.
• Provide in-house design when required.
• Ensure contract documents are code compliant and conform to OGS Design Standards.
• Support construction projects and coordinate with field staff; attend construction phase meetings and review submittals.
• Respond to inquiries and RFIs.
• Coordinate with client agencies.
• Be a subject matter expert on site-related design and construction matters.
