Effingham County Board of Commissioners is seeking a Landscape Crew Leader to supervise the maintenance and beautification of the county's parks and grounds, ensuring safe, attractive spaces for residents and visitors.
You will lead the crew in mowing, planting, irrigation work, and field preparation, coordinate with supervisors, operate equipment, and ensure timely, quality work while maintaining attendance.

$23.31 per hour — Non-exempt

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance and beautification of the Effingham County Board of Commissioners parks and grounds.
Assigns work to assigned staff, including park maintenance, chemical application, irrigation repairs, litter pickup, athletic field mowing and landscape installation through Effingham County. Prepares baseball fields; removes bases; blows clay and sand from dugouts; repairs pitchers’ mound and home plates; drags the infields with steel mat; removes clay from base stubs; inserts bases; chalks boxes, circles, and lines; tamps pitchers’ mound and home plate; drains water from infields; spreads sand on fields.
Regular and routine attendance at work is required.
Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by 5 months of previous experience and/or training involving grounds maintenance or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
