We are a design and build firm based in Portsmouth, Rhode Island that creates amazing high‑end landscapes throughout coastal New England. From site planning to finished stonework and plantings, we design, build, and maintain spaces that feel timeless, intentional, and uniquely tailored to each property.

Our construction team brings those designs to life, building patios, walls, steps, and outdoor spaces that showcase exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Your Day & Team Looks Like:

Your day starts at 6:45 AM at our Portsmouth office with a quick team meeting before loading up trucks with tools and materials for the day. You’ll then head out to job sites across coastal Rhode Island, working with a small crew to construct high‑end landscapes.

You’ll help build patios, retaining walls, steps, and walkways using natural stone and pavers. You’ll also assist with grading, drainage, and setting base materials that make these spaces durable and precise. Every project is unique, and you’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, collaboration, and pride in the finished product.

You’ll work closely with experienced masons, carpenters, and landscape builders who take their work seriously and enjoy what they do. This is hands‑on, skilled work that you can see and be proud of every single day.

You Are:

Someone who enjoys building, problem‑solving, and being outdoors. You’re reliable, detail‑oriented, and take pride in doing things right the first time. You have experience working with stone, concrete, or hardscape materials and like being part of a team that builds beautiful spaces that last.

Responsibilities Include:

Building patios, walkways, walls, and steps using stone, brick, or pavers
Setting accurate grades and compacted bases for hardscape installations
Mixing and working with mortar or adhesive materials as needed
Operating saws, compactors, and small equipment safely and efficiently
Assisting with drainage, layout, and site preparation
Maintaining organized tools, materials, and trucks
Collaborating with crew leaders and site foremen to complete projects on schedule and to Hanley standards

Requirements:

2–4 years of experience in landscape construction, masonry, or hardscape building
Ability to read or learn to interpret landscape and construction plans
Understanding of materials, grading, and construction techniques
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Reliable transportation to and from our Portsmouth office
Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Valid driver’s license preferred

Bonus Points If You Have:

Experience cutting and fitting stone or pavers
Familiarity with small equipment such as skid steers or compactors
OSHA‑10 certification or willingness to obtain
Experience working on high‑end residential projects
