Job summary
Halff seeks a Landscape Architecture Project Manager (PLA) for Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX. The ideal candidate has PLA registration and at least 8 years of experience directing park, recreation, trail, urban design and land development projects.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction, manage scopes and budgets, mentor staff, and contribute to proposals. Travel is periodic within the state as project needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university.
- Texas registration as a Professional Landscape Architect (PLA).
- At least 8 years of experience in Landscape Architecture.
- Ability to travel periodically primarily within the state to support project needs.
- Experience with construction methodologies and implementation.
- Well organized, detail oriented and highly motivated.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent design abilities.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from planning through delivery, coordinating with team members and stakeholders to ensure deliverables, schedules and budgets are met.
- Lead design teams through all stages from concept to construction.
- Produce construction documents, details and bidding packages.
- Mentor landscape designers and technical staff, fostering collaboration.
- Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets and schedules.
- Support in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
- Monitor QA/QC to meet Halff standards and client expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and consultants, driving project efficiency and profitability.

Halff is seeking a Landscape Architecture Project Manager in the Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX office. The ideal candidate would have their Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) registration and bring at least 8 years of experience working on the following project types: park, recreation and trail planning and design; urban park, plaza, streetscape and transportation enhancements; land development; and support for large scale planning projects. - Manage projects from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
- Work with design teams and consultants through all design stages from concept through construction.
- Lead teams to complete projects while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
- Produce CD sets including hardscape, planting, construction details and preparation of specifications and bidding packages.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of landscape architects, planners and others, to provide management on a wide variety of public and private landscape architectural projects.
- Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Support in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
- Manage quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
- Apply technical expertise appropriately by understanding project specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
- Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to landscape designers, landscape architects, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university
