Our Advisory Solutions Planning services span a wide spectrum of expertise — it is the thoughtful integration of multiple practices across Jacobs Advisory Solutions. We are a premier provider of facility planning/programming and consulting services to a variety of government, institutional, military, and corporate clients. These services include Strategic Planning, Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement, Programming & Portfolio Optimization, and Master Planning & Design meant to enhance our clients’ business efficiencies. Our team includes planners, facility programmers, architects, landscape architects, interior designers, civil/environmental engineers, economists/business analysts, GIS analysts, graphic designers, and other related disciplines.
Role The primary duties of the Landscape Architect are to use best practices and knowledge of landscape architecture principles to support project teams and to be a resource for colleagues with less experience. This position works independently but collaboratively on planning teams to deliver a wide range of federal planning and design projects, including Department of Defense (Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps), US Intelligence Community or a range of federal civilian agencies. This position is responsible for all related activities in the development of exterior spaces and physical environments. They draw project designs and specifications, estimate costs, and work with multi-disciplinary teams or outside consultants as needed.
Projects can range from small, medium, or larger-size master planning and facility planning efforts. Responsibilities will include supporting planning recommendations developed by the team, project validation, and corresponding documentation in compliance with all applicable Federal and DoD policies and criteria. Planning projects may also include Vision Plans, Area Development Plans and Installation Development Plans.
Landscape Architecture knowledge Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of the philosophies and techniques of landscape architecture.
Research skills Demonstrated knowledge and experience in research, data collection, and interviews.
Facilitation Skills Group facilitation skills or interview skills for use with client workshops and team charrette experience.
Critical Thinking Solves complex problems; Takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
Client relations Proven desire to develop client relationships.
Deliverable management Support planning team with deliverable page layouts, various charts/figures, brochures, posters, slide shows, and provision of deliverables in a variety of media formats. Graphic design skills are preferred.
Communication Skills Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal, to include technical writing/editing experience and a demonstrated ability to write, edit, and deliver planning content.
