Job summary

National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) seeks a Landscape Architect to support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program. This role is based in Atlanta and focuses on administrative, planning, and design tasks for park projects, with a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week and pay of $60 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in community planning and/or landscape architecture
• Or BA/BS Degree in Planning/Landscape Architecture
• Experience with facilitation, partnership development, and engaging communities in planning and project management

• Provide technical planning and landscape design assistance for park projects and related initiatives.
• Organize and conduct planning/design workshops and meetings, in-person and virtual.
• Prepare written and graphic materials and communicate with public agencies and non-profit organizations.

For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in community planning and/or landscape architecture, project management and public engagement. OR BA/BS Degree in Planning/Landscape Architecture

• Knowledge of outdoor recreation or community planning and design with experience at facilitation, partnership development, community outreach and engagement, project planning and management.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint

Duties:

To provide technical planning and design assistance for Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program natural disaster projects in Florida. Travel will be required for site visits and workshops tied to specific projects.

• The enrollee is a project team member providing technical planning and/or landscape design assistance and coordination on cooperative conservation and outdoor recreation planning projects working with government agencies, non-profitorganizations, tribes and community groups. Such as but not limited to: conceptual trail planning, river access, water traildevelopment, park planning/design.50%
• The enrollee will assist in organizing and conducting planning/design workshops and events and facilitates meetings both in-person and virtually for audiences with a wide range of subject knowledge and experience. This will include developing and implementing methods for substantively involving the interested public in the planning process, with diverse engagement of community interests.30%
• This position will be responsible for preparing written and graphic materials and designs to communicate with public and professional audiences and may include writing, mapping, and graphics. The enrollee will communicate frequently with representatives of public agencies and non-profit organizations in the community and at local, state and national forums.20%

• Air travel anticipated: May require infrequent air travel depending on residence of enrollee
