Job summary

Anakim Consulting Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring an Image Processing Engineer to support the Landsat program in partnership with NASA. You will develop high-performance image-processing software in C with Python support, optimize workflows, and enable scalable processing of large satellite imagery.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software engineering, strong C and Linux skills, and experience with relational databases and Git. Familiarity with AWS and Postgres is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (CS/SE/CE/Math/Physics) required.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C and Linux/Unix.
• Python familiarity and relational database experience.
• Experience with data-intensive processing and performance optimization.
• Experience with software development lifecycle practices and Git.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain image-processing software components.
• Optimize algorithms to reduce runtime and increase throughput.
• Develop solutions to ingest, process, and distribute satellite imagery.
• Write applications that interact with relational databases.
• Support cloud-based image-processing architectures and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform software planning, design, and unit/integration testing.
