Job summary

Anakim Consulting Inc. is seeking an Image Processing Engineer to advance high-performance satellite imagery workflows for the Landsat program in collaboration with NASA.

You will design, develop, and optimize software that enables scientists and agencies worldwide to process vast Earth observation data. Based on an on-site role in Sioux Falls, SD, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement C-based processing components, Python utilities, and data-management functionality,

Qualifications

• Experience in building high-performance image processing software.
• Knowledge of image processing concepts and pipelines.
• Experience collaborating with engineers and scientists.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a collaborative team of engineers and scientists supporting the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center.
• Design, develop, and maintain image-processing software components.
• Develop software primarily in C, with supporting development in Python.
• Optimize algorithms and workflows to reduce runtime and improve processing throughput.
• Design and maintain applications that write to and query relational databases.
• Develop solutions to ingest, process, and distribute large volumes of satellite imagery.
• Support cloud-based image-processing architectures and troubleshoot operational processing issues.
• Perform software planning, technical design, and unit/integration testing.
