Job summary

Geronimo Power, LLC is seeking an independent contractor to serve as a field liaison during the construction of utility-scale energy projects in Minnesota. You will coordinate with landowners, community stakeholders, local officials, and EPC teams, ensuring clear communication, issue tracking, and timely resolution.

The role requires on-site presence, local travel, and strong documentation skills to maintain logs and handoffs from construction to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 4 years of experience in construction coordination, community relations, stakeholder engagement, or similar.
• Experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects is a plus; renewable energy projects are beneficial.
• Strong written documentation and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholder matters and deadlines independently.

Scope of Services

Geronimo Power is seeking an independent contractor to provide project-based landowner and community liaison services during construction of utility-scale energy projects. The contractor will serve as a field point of contact among affected landowners, community stakeholders, local officials, Geronimo Power project representatives, and EPC contractor representatives. The contractor will coordinate communication, document and track stakeholder matters, support resolution of construction-related concerns, and facilitate an organized transition of open commitments to Operations. Services will be performed independently in accordance with the applicable written agreement and agreed project deliverables.

Services and Deliverables

• Provide field liaison services among project landowners, community stakeholders, local officials, Geronimo Power representatives, and EPC contractor representatives during active construction.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with affected landowners and community stakeholders.
• Support pre-construction outreach, document existing property conditions, and communicate available information concerning construction schedules, access needs, traffic plans, and upcoming field activities.
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings and communications with construction leadership, EPC field teams, local authorities, emergency services, and road authorities, as requested for the project.
• Maintain a current issue and commitment log identifying the matter, affected stakeholder, responsible party, target date, status, and resolution.
• Document and coordinate follow-up concerning access issues, complaints, damage claims, and restoration matters, including crop damage, soil compaction, drainage tile, fencing, gates, and access roads.
• Monitor and report stakeholder-related commitments reflected in leases, landowner agreements, road-use agreements, permits, and project plans; promptly elevate potential non-compliance or material risk to the designated Geronimo Power contact.
• Participate in site visits and field meetings to observe community impacts, gather relevant information, and support issue resolution.
• Coordinate with Development, Construction, Operations, Legal, Communications, and EPC teams to support consistent and accurate project communications.
• Provide regular written status reports summarizing stakeholder contacts, open matters, completed actions, emerging risks, and items requiring Geronimo Power decisions.
• Prepare a construction-to-operations handoff package containing open commitments, restoration obligations, stakeholder history, supporting records, and recommended follow-up actions.
• Provide other mutually agreed project-related liaison services documented in writing.

Contractor Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, communications, public relations, business, community development, agriculture, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 4 years of experience in construction coordination, community relations, stakeholder engagement, landowner relations, project management, consulting, or similar field-based services.
• Experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects preferred; utility-scale renewable energy experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with landowners, community members, local officials, contractors, and cross-functional project teams.
• Strong written documentation, issue-tracking, facilitation, conflict de-escalation, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple stakeholder matters, deadlines, records, and deliverables independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and issue-tracking or document-management tools.
• Ability to maintain regular on-site presence and travel locally as required by the engagement.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet applicable site-access requirements.
• Ability to maintain any business registrations, licenses, insurance, equipment, and tax obligations required under the independent contractor agreement.

Required Work Product and Service Standards

• Stakeholder inquiries and concerns are acknowledged, documented, assigned, and tracked through closure or formal handoff.
• Project stakeholders receive timely, consistent, and accurate information authorized for release by Geronimo Power.
• Issue logs, contact records, status reports, and supporting documentation are complete, current, and delivered according to the agreed reporting cadence.
• Potential commitment, restoration, compliance, or relationship risks are escalated promptly to the designated Geronimo Power contact.
• The final handoff package accurately identifies unresolved matters, obligations, records, and recommended next actions.

Engagement Terms

• This is an independent contractor engagement and not an offer of employment.
• The duration, project assignment, deliverables, reporting cadence, fees, invoicing requirements, reimbursable expenses, insurance requirements, confidentiality obligations, and termination provisions will be governed by the applicable written agreement or statement of work.
• The contractor is responsible for all taxes, insurance, licenses, equipment, and business expenses except as expressly stated in the written agreement.
• The contractor is not eligible for Geronimo Power employee wages, bonuses, paid time off, health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, or other employee programs.
• Nothing in this description changes or supersedes the terms of the executed independent contractor agreement or statement of work.

Contract fees will be established in the applicable written agreement or statement of work based on project scope, duration, service location, required on-site presence, and the contractor’s relevant experience.

Engagement Conditions

The engagement is contingent upon execution of written terms acceptable to Geronimo Power and completion of any reference, background, insurance, confidentiality, safety, or site-access requirements specified for the project.
