Friedman Williams in New York City seeks an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in the Landlord-Tenant Litigation Department. This role requires extensive NY landlord-tenant litigation experience.

You will manage matters from inception through resolution, prepare and file court documents in NYSCEF, maintain calendars, and coordinate with courts and vendors while handling a high-volume caseload with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of direct New York landlord-tenant litigation experience.
• Experience handling residential holdover and nonpayment proceedings.
• Strong knowledge of New York City Housing Court practice and procedure.
• Experience filing documents through NYSCEF.
• Strong client communication and case-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in all phases of residential and commercial landlord-tenant litigation.
• Manage matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct client interviews and gather documents necessary for case preparation.
• Prepare and electronically file court documents.
• Maintain litigation calendars and monitor deadlines.
• Coordinate service of process and communications with courts and vendors.
• Provide hearing and trial support.
• Manage and organize case files.
• Handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
