Job summary

The City of Beaumont seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to perform excavation, grading, and routine maintenance of landfill and site infrastructure. You will operate bulldozers, graders, excavators, dump trucks and related gear, ensuring safe, efficient work across yard and field sites.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in operation and servicing of heavy equipment, and a valid Texas Class C driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in the operation and servicing of designated equipment with emphasis on bulldozers, compactors and excavators.
• Must possess a valid Class C driver's license and good driving record; Texas license required within 30 days of residency.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment including bulldozers, graders, excavators and dump trucks.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs; inspects and reports malfunctions.
• May supervise a small crew and direct daily work activities.
• Manages yard cleanup, material handling and safety around work sites.
• Demonstrates safe operation around traffic and construction zones.
