Job summary

Republic Services in Montana is hiring an Operator – Heavy Equipment responsible for safely operating heavy machinery at our recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations to move waste and soil efficiently. You will perform inspections, monitor equipment, carry out minor servicing, complete reports, and strictly follow safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience operating heavy equipment.
• At least one year of experience at OSHA-regulated sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure windows, lights and cameras are clean and functional.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor service and document Equipment Condition Reports; escalate complex repairs.
• Maintain a clean, serviced shop and follow safety policies at shift end.
