Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a landfill laborer to support site operations at the waste facility. The role includes directing truck traffic, managing windblown debris, and assisting with general maintenance tasks on-site.

Responsibilities involve manual handling, use of a vacuum system, equipment operation, and compliance with safety protocols to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient landfill environment.

Qualifications

• Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manually picks up windblown paper and debris along landfill edges and places refuse in a bag.
• Operates a mobile vacuum and drives the tractor to collect loose paper and debris around the landfill perimeter.
• Directs vehicle traffic at the landfill entrance during busy periods using hand signals or verbal directions.
• Lifts construction materials and uses hand tools for site maintenance tasks such as lumber, concrete mix bags, shovels, and axes.
• Separates metal, white goods, lumber and cardboard from trash at the tipping floor for processing.
