Job summary

WM (Waste Management) in Kapolei, HI is seeking a Laborer to perform varied landfill tasks, including directing traffic and containing windblown refuse. This on-site role offers a pay range of $27.00 per hour and a Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm shift.

The position involves manual litter pickup along the landfill edge, vacuum-assisted cleanup, tractor operation, and coordinating truck movement. A variety of tools may be used for maintenance, with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manually picks up windblown paper from periphery of landfill.
• Carries a large plastic trash bag and walks along the fenced border of the landfill and exterior land.
• Uses a mobile vacuum to gather loose paper and refuse.
• Drives a tractor pulling vacuum along the border and exterior land.
• Directs the flow of trucks at the landfill entrance.
• Picks up construction materials for site maintenance (lumber, concrete bags, tools).
• Uses hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes and chainsaws.
