Job summary

Qualifications

• Waste industry experience required.
• Experience managing P&L.
• 5 years experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Minimum 5 years landfill experience or equivalent.
• Construction background is a plus.
• Must pass state EPA certification.
• SWANA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute landfill operational business plan to include program requirements, labor hours and long-term facility needs.
• Provide leadership for landfill operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Drive operational excellence through analysis of production, quality, and performance metrics with corrective actions.
• Implement landfill development plans and recommend equipment/infrastructure investments.
• Lead capital planning efforts and coordinate with internal/external partners.
• Review reports and drive resolution of problems.
• Lead a landfill team, conduct evaluations, manage attendance and performance documentation.
• Oversee workforce planning and scheduling to meet operational needs.
• Champion safety and regulatory compliance across procedures and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Hazardous waste duties: maintain waste area understanding, act as Emergency Coordinator, ensure training and inspections, handle manifests, and maintain records.
• Ensure corrective actions on hazardous waste management are addressed and closed.
