Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Laborer to perform general labor duties safely at a landfill, including yard cleanup, fueling vehicles and equipment, basic vehicle operation and site maintenance.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift 50 pounds, communicate effectively, work well in a team, and stay focused on safety and compliance.

This is a full-time, hourly position with a hiring range of $17 to $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team; strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Sorts all incoming loads to assure materials are accepted and handled properly for disposal.
• Inspects work areas and incoming loads to ensure compliance with facility and material acceptance standards.
• Directs incoming and outgoing transportation to ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Cleans and fuels equipment as needed.
• Establishes and maintains professionalism in facility management and compliance.
• Participates in training and other opportunities to expand knowledge and support company values.
