Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of responsible heavy equipment operation experience preferred.

• Ability to read work orders and maintain simple records.
• Basic math for time, operating and service records.

Responsibilities

• Operate crawler dozer and landfill compactor to spread, compact, and cover refuse.
• Operate water truck to provide dust control at disposal sites.
• May operate other heavy equipment such as scrapers, back hoes, loaders, trucks and motor grader.
• Assist in maintaining grounds at disposal sites.
• Perform routine service work on assigned equipment, make minor adjustments and assist in repairs.
• Keep simple time, material and equipment and maintenance records.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
