Job summary

WM is seeking a Landfill Gas Technician I to operate and maintain GCCS at our Danville, Indiana site. You will handle extraction wells, piping, data collection devices, and on-site maintenance to support regulatory compliance and optimize gas collection performance.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently in field conditions, and participation in required WM training programs including the GCCS Technician I training.

Qualifications

• Must have valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Experience in environmental fieldwork, construction, electrical, mechanical, or related hands‑on work is preferred.
• Familiarity with data logging systems and basic computer entry is expected.

Responsibilities

• Properly operate and maintain GCCS to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize performance.
• Calibrate and monitor data collection devices for LFG collection from the wellfield.
• Manage data entry from wellfield and environmental monitoring locations.
• Implement the GCCS preventative maintenance plan.
• Operate liquid management pumps and troubleshoot liquid levels.
• Adjust valves and pressure as needed and interpret collected data.
• Work with PVC/HDPE piping and related equipment for maintenance.
• Complete WM Landfill Gas Technician I Training.
• Understand environmental regulations related to GCCS operations.
