Job summary

Veit is seeking a capable labor-oriented candidate for our Duluth landfill operations. The role involves operating a range of landfill equipment, screening loads, directing traffic, and assisting with baling and grounds maintenance. Strong safety awareness and ability to follow instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating construction or landfill equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate landfill equipment (dozer, compactor, water truck, skid steer, backhoe) as needed.
• Screen loads for unacceptable waste and recyclables.
• Direct landfill traffic for safe waste delivery.
• Assist with baling cardboard, plastics, and aluminum.
• Perform lawn and grounds maintenance and snow removal as needed.
