Job summary

Harnden Group, LLC, a civil site contractor, seeks an Estimator/Landfill Construction Estimator to prepare estimates for landfill projects from $1M to $50M across PA, MD, DE, NJ and VA. The role is based at our Harrisburg, PA corporate office with in-person work and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, quoting subcontractors, developing production rates, and maintaining bid documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating experience in civil/site construction, landfill projects preferred.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred; experience considered.
• Strong understanding of civil drawings, earthwork, utilities and E&S controls.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and AutoCAD Civil 3D for takeoffs.
• Familiarity with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid and SmartBid.
• US citizenship required for restricted site access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete estimates for landfill-related projects from scope reviews to bid submission.
• Review drawings and specs, perform quantity takeoffs and create crew/equipment costs.
• Identify subcontractors and sources for competitive quotes.
• Develop production rates and schedules for bulk earthwork, utilities, and landfilling work.
• Maintain bid documentation and relationships with contractors and vendors.
