Harnden Group, LLC in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an Estimator for landfill construction. You will prepare estimates for projects ranging from public to private sectors, review drawings and specs, and lead pre-bid activities.

The role requires 3–5 years in site construction estimating and proficiency with takeoff tools. Based in our Harrisburg office, you will collaborate with a team to drive accurate bids, manage subcontractor quotes, and contribute to successful land development projects across

Qualifications

• 3–5 years estimating in civil/site construction; landfill projects preferred.
• Two- or four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Understanding of civil drawings and specs: earthwork, utilities, E&S controls.
• Ability to use Bluebeam and AutoCAD Civil 3D for takeoffs.
• Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid and SmartBid.
• Knowledge of surveying and GPS equipment a plus; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a complete estimate for landfill-related projects in public and private sectors.
• Review drawings, specifications, and measurements for scope and payment items.
• Travel to pre-bid meetings and conduct site reviews.
• Perform quantity takeoffs to estimate crew setup and material costs.
• Identify and contact subcontractors and suppliers for competitive quotes.
• Develop production rates and crew/equipment setups for bulk earthwork and utilities.
• Build anticipated schedules with concurrent activities.
• Prepare bid submissions with all required documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with key contractors and vendors.
• Collaborate with Estimating Team to share best practices and mentor juniors.
