Job summary

Cumberland Valley Business Alliance is seeking a Land Surveyor to estimate and determine project boundaries for residential and commercial construction. The role involves evaluating land development plans, providing stakeout for construction crews, and coordinating with field teams to ensure accurate site layouts.

Responsibilities include field surveys using GPS and CAD, reading blueprints, and maintaining equipment. The position requires travel to job sites and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Degree in surveying or civil engineering preferred, or minimum 2 years land surveying experience.
• State licensure as Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Experience with GPS, GIS, and survey equipment is essential.
• Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical site surveys to produce maps using GPS and surveying instruments.
• Travel to locations and determine exact locations from reference points.
• Analyze land development plans for building pads, utilities, roads and stormwater with CAD.
• Provide stakeout and prepare as-built plans and volume reports.
• Maintain surveying equipment and perform CAD calculations verification.
• Read and interpret blueprints and designs; monitor projects from start to finish.
• Work with DHM Job Superintendents, Foremen, GC and provide technical guidance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
