Job summary

SPM Resources in Columbia, SC, seeks a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead and deliver complex boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys across private and public sectors.

The role requires SC licensure, 7–10+ years of experience, and strong mentorship skills to guide survey staff, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate with clients and engineers.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of private and public land surveying.
• SC licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
• Experience performing ALTA and Boundary Surveys, Topographic/Existing Condition & Route Surveys, and Construction Layout.
• Experience managing and developing Project and Field Personnel.
• Assist with proposal preparations and client presentations.
• Manage project schedules, financials, and deliverables.
• Experienced with TopCon Enterprise or related survey software, Civil3D, and MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, subdivision, and control surveys.
• Review, certify, sign, and seal survey documents in accordance with state regulations.
• Ensure data accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to all survey staff.

SPM Resources is partnered with a leading regional civil, surveying, and structural consulting engineering firm in Columbia, SC in search of a Professional Land Surveyor. Will support the design and delivery of public and private infrastructure projects that transform communities. The Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) will be responsible for leading, managing, and communicating project scopes. Will manage multiple projects and team members, training and mentorship of staff, and providing all land survey documents and deliverables. Work closely with clients, municipalities, developers, owners, and all project stakeholders.
