Job summary

Civil Design Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our multi-disciplinary team in Collinsville, IL.

You will support survey and design projects across Site, Transportation, Structures, and Water Resources while contributing to CDI's mission of Building Stronger Communities. The internship features hands-on fieldwork at various job sites, use of Trimble, Leica, and GPS equipment, and a 3.5-day-a-week intern program with summer networking and career conversations.

Qualifications

• Provide 30–40 hours per week with start between 6–7 am.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work outdoors on various job sites and in all weather.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in boundary surveys to establish property lines.
• Perform topographic surveys for site features.
• May conduct construction surveys for municipal, private, and roadway projects.
• Use Trimble, Leica gear and GPS software to collect survey data.
• Import field data daily and maintain detailed field notes.
• Follow CDI safety policies and perform equipment maintenance as needed.
• Travel 10–15%.
