Job summary

Neff & Associates in Parma Heights, Ohio, is seeking a Land Surveying Field Crew Chief with strong field experience and some office work. You will lead a field crew, direct survey tasks and ensure safety, efficiency, and professionalism on the job. Projects include boundary, construction staking, ALTA, ROW mapping and topo.

Travel to project locations may be required; a valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug tests and background checks are expected. 3–4 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to read and write and perform basic math.
• Direct knowledge of Trimble Robotic Total Stations GPS & Trimble Access and/or SurveyPro software.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to read survey and construction field notes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field survey crew with direction and leadership.
• Ensure safety, efficiency and professionalism on the job.
• Execute surveys including Boundary, Construction staking, ALTA, ROW mapping and topo.
• Travel to project locations as needed and coordinate field activities.

Land Surveying Field Crew Chief

Description

This position will work under the direction of a Professional Surveyor associated with all aspects of land surveying. Candidate must have strong field experience along with some office experience. Responsible for the primary field direction of projects assigned to them and the duties of the field survey crew. Expected to lead a field survey crew by providing direction & leadership while demonstrating an attitude for safety, efficiency and professionalism while on the job. Project work will encompass various types of surveys including Boundary, Construction staking, ALTA, Right of Way Mapping and topographic. Some limited project work may be located outside of the Northeast Ohio area, requiring travel and overnight stays.

3-4 years of experience

Qualifications

The candidate may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 80 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Work is performed under all weather conditions, often on busy streets, or construction sites. May involve extensive standing and walking and includes clearing brush, working in difficult terrain, opening manholes and on some difficult slopes. A valid driver’s license is required with the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check if requested.
