Job summary

BL Companies is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to oversee field operations in Canton Office – Uniontown, OH. The role requires 4+ years performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys, with travel up to 75% to project sites.

You will lead field teams, verify data, and ensure safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include training junior staff, maintaining equipment, and coordinating survey activities per state

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive experience in land surveying.
• Proficiency operating surveying equipment and data collection software.
• Thorough understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, field procedures, and construction staking.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time and work at project sites throughout the region and other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise one or more field survey team members.

• Monitor crew productivity and provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and compliance while working in varying field conditions and locations.

Qualifications Land Survey – Crew Chief

Our growth offers an opportunity for an experienced Crew Chief to join our team. The selected candidate must have a minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys. This position will oversee daily field operations, ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards, and utilize robotic and GPS equipment along with digital data collection.

This role requires travel (approximately 75% of the time) and the ability to travel to project sites wherever needed to support business and client needs. All travel time is paid in accordance with Ohio wage and hour requirements.
