Job summary

Dewberry in Frederick, Maryland is seeking an experienced Land Survey Instrument Operator to join our survey crew. You will assist the field supervisor with daily workloads and contribute to boundary, ALTA and topographic surveys using Trimble equipment and related data collection tools.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of survey experience, a high school diploma, strong math and computer skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of survey experience required.
• High School Diploma (Minimum).
• Good Mathematical skills.
• Good computer and data collector skills.
• Use/knowledge of Trimble survey equipment a plus.
• Use/knowledge of 3-D Scanners a plus.
• Use/knowledge of UAV Drones a plus.
• FAA Part 107 Certification a plus.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Must pass a drug test if required.
• Must be dependable.
• Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrain.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Land Survey Instrument Operator to work in our Frederick, Maryland office location. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department as an Instrument Operator. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment as a key member of a survey crew assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA and topographic surveys, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Must pass a drug test if required.

• Ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition the ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $53,000-$68,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
