raSmith is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician in its Survey Services division to support the drafting and analysis of survey documents. The firm combines civil and structural engineering with land surveying across multiple offices.

Ideal candidates hold an associate or bachelor's in a related field, with 0–3+ years of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D. A hybrid work model and strong benefits support professional growth.

• Requires knowledge of surveying methods, practices and legal aspects.
• Academic background in surveying or civil engineering is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D and MS Office expected.

Responsibilities

• Review project files and materials to carry out drafting tasks.
• Analyze field notes, legal descriptions, title easements and plans.
• Prepare survey documents such as ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey and plats.
• Develop understanding of surveying concepts and project integration.

Land Survey CAD Technician Primary Responsibilities:

• Reviewing assigned project files for necessary materials and information to carry out project scope and drafting tasks.
• Providing thorough analysis of field notes, legal descriptions, title easements, design plans, utility plans and construction layout notes.
• Preparing survey documents including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, Plat of Survey, Certified Survey Maps, topographic maps, Transportation Plats, Condominium Plats, Subdivision Plats, legal descriptions and other survey exhibits.
• Developing an understanding of surveying concepts, our company business and how surveying is integrated into plans and projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Land Survey CAD Technician Skills and Requirements:

• An Associate's Degree in a related field or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited school.
• 0-3+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of surveying methods, practices and techniques as well as the legal aspects of surveying are required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microsoft Office products is also expected.
• Applicable U.S. based work experience.
