Job summary

Summit Agricultural Group is seeking a Land Fund Intern to support asset acquisition, sale, and farm management across its extensive agri-business portfolio. The role is based at the Alden, Iowa headquarters and involves hands-on exposure to fund management processes and reporting.

You will assist in sourcing real estate opportunities, evaluating tenants, and developing market insights while gaining experience in exit strategies and farm operations under guidance from the management team.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or above studying agricultural business, agricultural studies, or related degree.
• Fast-paced entrepreneurial environment requires adaptability and initiative.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing agricultural real estate investment opportunities in the Midwest with farmers, brokers, lenders and appraisers.
• Assist in procuring creditworthy tenants to cash-rent the land including credit analysis.
• Develop market expertise, identify trends and opportunities, and make exit timing recommendations.
• Grow Summit Ag Management's farm management portfolio and maintain accurate farm records.
• Support drone imagery projects across Midwest portfolio funds and deliver findings to management.
• Deliver a final presentation to Summit's management team.

Job description

As a Land Fund Intern at Summit Agricultural Group, you will be exposed to multiple aspects of fund management, specifically asset acquisition, sale, and farm management within our extensive scope of agri-businesses. The position is responsible for managing projects and completing tasks in an accurate and timely manner. The position will be based at our Alden, Iowa headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing agricultural real estate investment opportunities in the Midwest. This position will include a significant amount of interaction with farmers, real estate brokers, lenders and appraisers.
• Assist in the procurement of creditworthy tenants to cash-rent the land. This will require credit analysis and review.
• Assist in developing expertise in local markets; identify trends and opportunities; and make recommendation on exit timing and strategies.
• Develop farm management expertise and assist in growing the farm management portfolio of Summit Ag Management.
• Maintain accurate and timely farm management records to improve performance and productivity.
• Assist in drone imagery of farms in portfolio funds across the Midwest.
• Deliver a final presentation to Summit's management team.
