Job summary

The Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking an Assistant Land Development Manager to support residential and commercial land development projects in Charlotte, NC. This on-site, full-time role focuses on preconstruction, construction, and closeout activities.

The ideal candidate brings a civil/land development background or 2–4 years of related experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Excel and scheduling tools like MS Project or MS Planner. Valid driving is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or related field, or 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or MS Planner.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning, budgets, schedules, and resource coordination.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, bids, and scopes of work.
• Conduct site visits, field observations, and project meetings.
• Review contractor invoices and change orders.
• Coordinate permits, utilities, municipal requirements, and inspections.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, tracking logs, and documentation.
• Identify project risks and communicate schedule/budget impacts.
• Support project closeout, warranty, compliance, and utility acceptance.
• Prepare project updates and assist with client/leadership reporting.
