Job summary

York Engineering is building a land-development division and seeks an experienced Professional Engineer to lead it. You will start with residential site plan work and grow plats, grading, utilities and subdivisions, coordinating with in-house survey and structural teams.

We value being a good person who lifts others. The role is based in Colorado or Utah offices with client-facing responsibilities and leadership of a small team.

Qualifications

• Significant land-development design experience including plats, grading, utilities and subdivisions.
• Experience leading engineers or a small team on complex projects.
• Comfort being the client-facing lead on projects with developers, builders and municipalities.
• WorkBased from our Colorado or Utah office.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D is a plus.

• Lead and grow the land-development group, mentoring engineers and designers to expand capabilities.
• Own client relationships from pursuit through approvals with developers and municipalities.
• Manage subdivision design, grading and drainage, and wet and dry utilities.
• Coordinate with York Survey on platting and construction staking.

Job description

York Engineering has done civil, structural and surveying work since 1995. We're building a land-development division, and we want an experienced PE to lead it. You'd start from a steady base of residential site plan work. From there you'd grow plats, grading, utilities and subdivision design into a full practice, with our survey and structural teams in house beside you.

What you'll do

• Lead and grow the land-development group, mentoring engineers and designers
• Own client relationships with developers, builders and municipalities, from pursuit through approvals
• Manage the design of subdivisions, grading and drainage, and wet and dry utilities
• Coordinate closely with York Survey on platting and construction staking
• Set the standards, schedules and budgets for the division

What you bring (required)

• Significant land-development design experience: plats, grading, utilities and subdivisions
• Experience leading engineers or a small team
• Comfort being the client-facing lead on projects
• Work based from our Colorado or Utah office

Nice to have

• Licenses in both CO and UT
