Job summary

Spalding DeDecker, a leading surveying, planning and civil engineering firm, seeks a Mid-senior Land Development Engineer in Rochester Hills. The role supports design teams, leads drawings and analyses, and ensures permit approvals through zoning and agency reviews.

Ideal candidates have 5 years Civil Engineering experience, strong Civil 3D and Office 365 skills, and proficiency in land development design, with English fluency and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team in the preparation of project drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Prepares engineering analysis, design, calculations, and reports.
• Evaluates land use and zoning requirements and is familiar with zoning ordinances.
• Prepares permit applications and works through agency review processes.
• Occasional site visits during construction to assess progress and quality.
• Works with owner/developer, architects, landscape architects, engineering trades, and contractors.
• Provides mentorship and training for junior staff.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s (Required)
• Experience: Civil engineering: 5 years (Required)
• Language: English (Required)
• Minimum 3 years of design experience on land development projects
• K-12 site design experience a plus (but not required)
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and Office 360 products (Excel, Word, etc.)

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Leads a team in the preparation of project drawings, calculations, and specifications.

• Provides mentorship and training for junior staff
