Chevron is hiring a Land Analyst in Houston, TX to provide comprehensive Land administrative and technical support for the Shale & Tight Regional Land Team.

The role requires high energy, self-motivation, independence, and teamwork, with the ability to manage confidential information and work with a diverse group of leaders and staff.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience supporting Land professionals or similar tasks.
  • Knowledge of Land contracts provisions and obligations.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and recommend them.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares initial lease/Land document packages for transmittal to lease records and land administration.
  • Creates, processes, verifies, prepares, seeks approval and mails AFE ballots; tracks ballot elections and communicates results.
  • Provides routine support for Land functions including data gathering, research, presentations and reports.
  • Prepares Land contracts for execution and processing.
  • Reviews and submits recommendations on rental payments, contract expirations, and lease obligations.
  • Receives check requisitions and processes them in the check request system.

Job description

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Land Analyst located in Houston, TX through September 4th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (CT).

This is a full-time Land Analyst position providing comprehensive Land administrative/tech support to the Shale & Tight Regional Land Team.

This position requires a high-energy individual who is self-motivated, works independently as well as in teams, and has demonstrated the ability to multi-task and use independent judgement within the scope of his/her responsibility. The individual should be able to discreetly and routinely handle confidential information, and establish a positive and professional working relationship with a diverse team, business leaders and other staff members.

Responsibilities for this position may include, but is not limited to:
  • Prepares initial lease/Land document packages for transmittal to lease records and land administration.
  • Creates, processes, verifies, prepares, seeks approval and mails AFE ballots. Tracks ballot elections and communicates results internally.
  • Provides routine support for any or all Land functions including data gathering, research, presentations and reports as required.
  • Prepares Land contracts for execution and processing.
  • Reviews and submits recommendations pertaining to rental payments, contract expirations, and other lease obligations
  • Receives check requisitions for manual checks or ACH payments to payees. Processes requisitions in the check request system. Ensures manual checks are sent to payees or are provided to the designated Land Analyst or Land Representative.
  • Assists with internal budget and project tracking.
  • Assist Land Reps with research and drafting, as needed (pooling consents, JOA, curative etc.)
  • Supports onboarding of new hires, including office preparation, IT equipment, and employee identification processing.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize the following Land systems: Quorum Land System, Quorum Query Manager, Map Viewer; Enverus Tool Suite: DrillingInfo and Courthouse; AFE Navigator; ThoughtTrace; Simplifile; PeopleFinders or Lexis/Nexis; Adobe Acrobat Pro DC; ConnectSuite e-Certify; DocuSign; EnergyLink; Documentum; Power BI
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience supporting Land professionals or in other position with similar tasks and responsibilities.
  • Possess some knowledge and understanding of Land contracts provisions and obligations.
  • Recognize opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations for those processes.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills within work group and when partnering with internal and external customers and/or other Land divisions.
  • Must be able to communicate in a clear, concise and effective manner, orally, and in writing; good listener; maintains tactful and professional demeanor in all situations with all levels at Chevron and with outside organizations.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, self-motivated, learns quickly, anticipate the needs of management and have the ability to discreetly handle confidential information.
  • Required skills in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, etc.)
