Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Land Acquisition Area Manager in Longmont, CO to source, evaluate, negotiate, and secure land opportunities that support division growth. You will lead acquisitions from identification to closing, coordinating due diligence and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in land acquisition or related fields, strong negotiation and financial analysis skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of experience.
• Five to seven years of progressive experience in land acquisition, development, real estate, or homebuilding.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue land acquisition opportunities aligned with objectives.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, brokers, developers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate opportunities through financial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessments.
• Structure transactions to maximize profitability while minimizing risk.
• Coordinate due diligence and entitlement, environmental, engineering, and legal reviews.
• Prepare and present acquisition recommendations to senior leadership for approval.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, landowners, and industry professionals.
• Manage transactions through contract execution, approval processes, and closing.
• Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
• Support long-range land planning and growth initiatives.
• Conduct business professionally and ethically to increase goodwill and profit.
• Travel overnight as needed.
