Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Laminating Helper to support the laminator operator on a second shift in Houston, TX. The role offers a temp-to-hire path with a $15/hour base pay and a 40–65 hour workweek.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, cleanup, inspection, and contributing to process improvements while maintaining safety and quality data. Prior corrugated experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• 6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department preferred.
• Able to read and follow factory master instructions.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up laminator according to setup techniques.
• Inspect labels before run for specification, trim and registration.
• Maintain label storage area and provide inventories to sales management and accounting.
• Monitor sheet quality: warp, loose liner, correct size.
• Check glue roll for proper glue application.
• Operate equipment to maximize capacity and speed.
• Cross-train on other machines as needed.
• Complete reports like Production Data and Machine Status in a timely manner.

Lamining Helper

$15/HR

M-F 1:15pm-9:45pm avg 40-65 hr/wk (2nd Shift)

Temp to Hire

Responsible for assisting the operator in all activities associated with running the laminator including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

How you will impact:

• Assist in setting-up laminator accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Inspect labels before run to ensure that label is to specification, particularly trim and registration.
• Maintain and keep orderly the label storage area. Provide inventories to sales management and accounting.
• Monitor corrugated sheet quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, and correct size.
• Check glue roll for proper glue application.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Maintain file of Mylars for registration for repeat orders.
• Cross-train on other machines as needed
• Assist with completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Adheres to production schedule.
• May be assigned to other projects and duties

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred
• 6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department, preferred
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
