Job summary

Lear Corporation in North Carolina is seeking a Direct Operator in the Lamination Department to perform feed-in, butt-weld, or exit end duties as directed.

You will support daily production goals, operate and monitor machinery, inspect fabric for defects, and maintain safe working conditions while following SOPs. Prior lean manufacturing exposure is highly valued, with opportunities for growth within a global manufacturing leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment and identify training opportunities to reduce accidents and injuries.
• Position full A-frame.
• Align fabric edge to machine using sensors and controls; record data.
• Start machine and monitor fabric; inspect for defects per SOP.
• Change rolls and perform style changes; clock in/out work orders; cut samples.
• Conform to future changes coming with flatbed.
• Achieve daily production goals.
• Receive verbal instructions, gather tools, store them, and obtain supplies.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Effectively execute tasks.
• Lean manufacturing experience is strongly desired.
