Job summary

Kronospan is seeking a Lantech operator to perform packaging tasks, basic equipment maintenance, and quality inspections to ensure product integrity. You will stock machines, monitor material quality, and escalate issues while working with a team to sustain efficiency and safety on the line.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and assisting maintenance, with a rotating day/night schedule that supports continuous production in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (standing, lifting).
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery used in packaging.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy in finished materials.
  • Effective troubleshooting and timely escalation.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging equipment according to plan and maintain basic cleaning/maintenance.
  • Keep machines stocked with raw materials and verify material quality.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products and report issues.
  • Identify unacceptable product conditions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team, supervisors and leadership to improve quality, productivity or reduce costs.
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

What You Will Do Here

Lantech operators are responsible for performing all tasks involved in packaging product according to plan. This includes: performing basic, routine equipment maintenance and cleaning on everything in the area of responsibility; keep machines stocked with raw materials and work with all personnel regarding raw material quality; perform visual inspections of all finished products being moved and/or loaded onto outbound trucks; identify unacceptable product conditions and initiate corrective action; work closely with all team members, supervisors and leadership to identify, report and correct quality issues, productivity improvements, or cost reduction initiatives; and assist maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment.

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Ability to operate all tooling and machinery required to perform required job duties
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and quality of finished material
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems during day-to‑day production. Understand escalation process and react accordingly and in a timely fashion
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to dependably work a rotating shift schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Bonus Qualifications: Not Required

  • Previous forklift experience
  • Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Activities and Safety Equipment
  • Sitting, standing on concrete, walking, climbing, heavy lifting, push/pulling, reaching, bending, vision, hearing, dexterity of hands and fingers, and written and verbal communication.
  • face shield/goggles, dust mask/ respirator, hard hat, ear plugs, and high visibility vest required
