Job summary

The City of Burlington NC is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to keep three lakes and marinas safe, clean, and attractive for residents. You will perform mowing, weed control, equipment operation, signage, and marina operations support to ensure a welcoming public space.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma, a valid NC driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicator License within 6 months.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of groundskeeping and maintenance work.
• Proficient in operating maintenance equipment (mowers, tractors, leaf blowers, weed eaters, stump grinders).
• Able to perform seeding, fertilizing, mowing, and basic ground tasks.

Responsibilities

• Mows, weed eats, applies herbicides, plants flower beds, prunes trees, fertilizes, seeds, blows and rakes leaves across three lakes.
• Operates equipment including mowers, tractors, weed eaters, leaf blowers, stump grinders, and city trucks.
• Mops, sweeps, collects garbage, cleans facilities, and performs minor repairs at lake facilities.
