Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking a friendly host/hostess to welcome guests and guide them to tables with a warm, smiling approach. You will manage the wait list and seating flow, respond to inquiries, and maintain a clean entrance area to ensure a positive first impression.

The ideal candidate can stand for long periods, speak English, and pass required Florida vendor and food safety certifications. This role offers a five-day work week with competitive benefits.

• Must complete Florida Responsible Vendor program.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and guide to tables using Flanigan’s style.
• Manage the Wait List and seating flow efficiently.
• Answer guest questions and relay to the manager when needed.
• Maintain clean foyer, host station, and menus; restock as required.
• Handle opening/closing duties and shift sidework.

Overview

You’re the first smiling face our guests see every time they enter a Flanigan’s, and likely the last as they go on their merry way. You set the tone for the entire experience, greeting all of our friends and family in a warm and welcoming way. You help usher guests to their tables, manage the flow of seating, field inquiries, and greet people on the way out, just as nicely as on the way in. We’re always looking for the most friendly, hospitable people to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
• Greets guests with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Engages guests in Flanigan’s "Smile Talk" while escorting them to table in a timely manner
• Efficiently manages the Wait List for seating
• Communicates guest’s questions or concerns to Manager on duty
• Keeps foyer, host/hostess station, wait area clean and free of debris, restocks and cleans menus
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
• Answers telephone within 4 rings, and answers guests’ questions, and/or directs guests to proper staff member
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework

Qualifications

• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
