Job summary

Flanigan’s Enterprises in Surfside, FL is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, manage seating, and maintain a welcoming front-of-house. You will escort guests to tables, handle the wait list, and answer inquiries with our signature Smile Talk.

The role requires English proficiency, physical stamina, and completion of Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications. Join a team that values service and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with Flanigan’s 'Smile Talk' and escort them to their table.
• Efficiently manage the Wait List for seating and flow of guests.
• Answer telephone within 4 rings and direct guests to proper staff.
• Keep foyer, host/hostess station and wait area clean; restock and clean menus.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
• Relay guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty.
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s 'Smile Talk'.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties and assigned sidework.

Overview

You’re the first smiling face our guests see every time they enter a Flanigan’s, and likely the last as they go on their merry way. You set the tone for the entire experience, greeting all of our friends and family in a warm and welcoming way. You help usher guests to their tables, manage the flow of seating, field inquiries, and greet people on the way out, just as nicely as on the way in. We’re always looking for the most friendly, hospitable people to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
• Greets guests with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Engages guests in Flanigan’s "Smile Talk" while escorting them to table in a timely manner
• Efficiently manages the Wait List for seating
• Communicates guest’s questions or concerns to Manager on duty
• Keeps foyer, host/hostess station, wait area clean and free of debris, restocks and cleans menus
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
• Answers telephone within 4 rings, and answers guests’ questions, and/or directs guests to proper staff member
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework

• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
