Job summary

Dragonfly Pond Works is hiring a field technician to support outdoor aquatic maintenance and stormwater management in Altamonte Springs, FL. This is a full-time, year-round role with growth opportunities and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You will inspect sites, identify invasive weeds, perform mowing, and assist with minor repairs while upholding high environmental standards and excellent communication with clients and peers.

Qualifications

• Florida Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Experience in lake/pond management or pest/herbicide control preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to swim and be comfortable around water.
• Lift up to 80 pounds.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and treat invasive weeds.
• Visual inspection of stormwater components.
• Mowing/string trimming sites.
• Improve site aesthetics.
• Minor repairs for compliance.
• Implement safety training for field staff.
• Handle administrative duties.

Pay: $20- $22 an hour- Full-time

Requirements

• Florida Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or be able to obtain a license within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in lake and pond management, pest/herbicide control or surveying is preferred.
• Experience in the following disciplines are desirable: fisheries, wildlife management, conservation, ecology, biology, environmental sciences or forestry.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Able to swim and comfortable around water.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds on a regular basis.
• Great communication skills.
• Basic math skills to calculate product applications.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Occasional travel may be required.
