Job summary

Dragonfly Pond Works is hiring for an outdoor, full-time position in Virginia Beach to manage ponds and stormwater projects. You will identify invasive weeds, inspect stormwater features, and perform maintenance on pond equipment, with occasional travel.

The role requires an aquatic pesticide license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days, strong communication, and physical fitness to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in lake/pond management, pest/herbicide control or surveying.
• Experience in fisheries, wildlife management, conservation, ecology, biology, environmental sciences or forestry.
• Electrical work experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Able to swim and comfortable around water.
• Able to lift 80 pounds regularly.
• Great communication skills.
• Basic math skills to calculate product applications.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Team-oriented and aligned with Dragonfly's values.

Responsibilities

• Identify and treat invasive weeds.
• Visual inspection of stormwater components.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on pond fountains and related equipment.
• Mowing/string trimming sites.
• Improving the overall aesthetics of the sites.
• Minor repairs for compliance.
• Implement safety training for field staff.
• Handle administrative duties.

Pay: $18- $22 an hour- Full-time

Requirements
