Job summary

Precision, Inc. in Pella, IA is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Associate on the 2nd shift to produce components per specifications. You will load parts, groove patterns, and operate extrusion and lagging tasks under supervision, with emphasis on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts and components onto carts.
• Lay out grooves for various patterns and cut grooves accurately.
• Assemble & disassemble extruder head, clean barrel and head, and apply lagging.
• Load and close autoclave and wrap pulleys for autoclave readiness.
• Keep accurate records of pulleys, lagging weight and transfer locations.
• Verify parts against specifications using measuring instruments.
• Follow schedules, prints, and tech standards.
• Perform other duties such as grooving, wrapping pulleys, extruding, and sandblasting.
• Maintain lagging area through housekeeping and safety practices.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Perform different jobs, including but not limited to utilizing the saw, installing lag on pulleys, producing defined quantity of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

• Load and unload parts and components onto carts.
• Lay out grooves for patterns including but not limited to herringbone, diamond, and chevron and cut grooves at proper depth and angle.
• Assemble & disassemble extruder head, clean out barrel and head of extruder for white compounds and apply lagging, making the necessary adjustments to the extruder.
• Load and close autoclave and wrap pulleys to ready for the autoclave.
• Keep accurate record of pulleys, lagging weight and transfer locations.
• Keep supervisor informed of any known materials that should be ordered.
• Verify accuracy of parts and components according to company and customer specifications using various measuring instruments.
• Use and understand various paperwork, including schedules, prints and tech standards.
• Perform other jobs in the department including but not limited to grooving, wrapping pulleys, extruding, and sandblasting.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping in lagging area including but not limited to sweeping, moping, cleaning tools, machines, visual inspections, and other related accessories.
• As business needs arise, complete assignments in other areas and related task assignments in work areasunder the guidance of lead or supervisor.
• Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
