Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is seeking a Lactation Support Registered Nurse to join the Antepartum/Postpartum Unit within the Beth Israel Lahey Health system. The role combines bedside nursing with specialized lactation education for postpartum patients and newborns.

The unit provides private rooms across three units with a Level 1 newborn nursery. You will educate families, assess feeding needs, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to create individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• License Registered Nurse required; American Heart Association – BLS certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns.
• Assesses feeding needs and provides lactation education.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to develop individualized care plans.
• Coordinate care and direct assistive personnel to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
• Maintains documentation and communicates effectively with patients and families.
