Job summary

Paycom - ATS hospital system is seeking a lactation consultant to provide breastfeeding support for new mothers and families, initiate consultations, and promote health outcomes within maternity services.

The role involves bedside rounds, education material development, collaboration with care teams, and ongoing quality improvement within a patient-centered framework. In-person duties and staff training are central to the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program.
• Qualified to work with neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient populations as required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with breastfeeding infants and mothers experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care/services following established lactation protocols.
• Conduct bedside lactation rounds daily to assess needs, anxieties, and staff questions.
• Consult with mothers experiencing breastfeeding problems and develop education materials.
• Plan, organize and deliver lactation management services for in-patient and out-patient care.
• Maintain patient records and participate in quality assurance and training programs.
• Engage in staff teaching and coordinate with the health care team to improve care.
